Global Agency proudly announces a new achievement in the international journey of “Gulperi,” the acclaimed Turkish drama produced by TIMSBI Productions. Its Portuguese adaptation, “Vitória,” has won the Venice TV Award 2026 in the Soap/Telenovela category.
The success was celebrated at MIPCOM, where representatives of TIMSBI Productions, SIC and Global Agency came together to mark the international recognition of the adaptation and the successful journey of “Gulperi” from Türkiye to Portugal laden with awards.
Originally produced by TIMSBI Productions, “Gulperi” was internationally distributed by Global Agency, which licensed the scripted format rights for the Portuguese adaptation. The resulting series, “Vitória,” has successfully brought the emotional and powerful story of “Gulperi” to Portuguese audiences with a locally produced interpretation.
The Venice TV Award represents a new milestone for “Vitória” following its strong launch in Portugal. The series premiered in prime time on SIC and also became available on OPTO and Disney+, extending its reach across both linear television and streaming audiences.
At the heart of both “Gulperi” and “Vitória” is the story of a determined mother fighting against injustice and formidable family opposition to reunite with her children and rebuild her life.
Izzet PINTO, Founder & CEO of Global Agency, commented: “We are very proud to see ‘Vitória’ receive this prestigious international recognition. SIC is a strong partner that we greatly value working with, and it was a pleasure to celebrate this achievement together at MIPCOM. ‘Gulperi’ has been sold to many countries and has achieved success across international markets. We believe its journey will continue with many more successes around the world.”
Burak Sağyaşar, Co-Founder and CEO of TIMSBI Productions, said: “Seeing a story we created in Türkiye find a new life in another country, and seeing audiences there embrace it as their own, is always very meaningful for us. Gulperi is a solid story that has been warmly received in many of the countries it has aired in, and its success in Angola, Mozambique and Portugal was so strong that we were pleased to have SIC continue on the journey with a local remake. To see that success turn into Vitória and now be crowned with a Venice TV Award makes us extremely proud. An adaptation only works when the local team truly makes the story their own, while keeping the heart of the original alive. SIC has done that beautifully. We are very happy to share this moment with our partners here at MIPCOM and to celebrate the success of Vitória together.”
